A little about me
My journey with yoga began at a young age in a rural village in northern Sri Lanka, where yoga was woven into the fabric of everyday life.
After moving to the UK, I developed a passion for sport, including running, netball, and beach volleyball. Fascinated by how the universe works, I studied Physics before later entering the field of ophthalmology, driven by a desire to be of service to others. I now work for the NHS within the specialty of Ophthalmology. Alongside my professional career, I explored a variety of yoga styles, from Ashtanga to hot yoga.
After many years of dedicated service in the NHS, however, I found myself heading towards burnout. This led me to rediscover the quieter, more restorative aspects of yoga. Through this practice, I have experienced a profound and positive shift in my well being. While it remains an ongoing journey, I now approach both my work and my life with greater balance, presence, and compassion.
I completed my Yoga Teacher Training at The Shala in London and have been teaching since 2024. I am also a qualified Restorative Yoga Teacher and consider myself a lifelong student of yoga. My teaching is rooted in the belief that yoga is not about striving for perfection but about creating space to reconnect with ourselves—physically, mentally, and emotionally.
